SECOND THEORY OF CHANGE PLANNING RETREAT SLATED FOR SEPTEMBER

The second planning retreat of the Prescription for Activity (PfA) Task Force is slated to take place September 13-14, 2016 in Denver, CO.

At the Task Force's first planning retreat in mid-May in Dallas, the group of experts and thought leaders made significant progress in the development of a systems-change map to evolve healthcare so that physical activity-based behavior change interventions become more integral to clinical care for the prevention and treatment of disease.

During the months of June, July and August, a working group of Task Force members will be refining the work developed at the first planning retreat in Dallas in preparation for the September gathering in Denver.

The vision of the Task Force is a future in which a significant number of healthcare consumers in the U.S. are prescribed or incentivized to pursue physical activity-based behavior-change interventions for preventive care and self-maintenance -- interventions that are readily accessible, delivered by trusted members of the patient-centered team, reimbursable by payers, and and integrated into patient records.
